Default MM partner?

A friend and I plan on getting factions when it comes out, and he is sold on the MM N/M build. Since we plan on playing just the two of us alot, what would be a good partner to pve MM?

i would say a N/* SS build can be good for a MM, he makes the bodys u make the minons

Main reason for my choice..... SS can give major area effect dmg to ppl, and if they are around Minons the dmg will be more centralised as well. And once they die u make the minons. So u should have loads of Minons and Dmg otu put from the othe necro.

all u will be messing is a monk :P lol

If you are gunna be SS, then be Echo SS (N/Me) you can cast SS twice, meaning more dmg.

But IMO, I would have a strong tank/dmg dealer.

I agree the tank is bad, mainly with the new golem skill for necros. So, can someone post a good SS or echo SS build? Also, what about an ele, or ranger w/ pet? Would they work with a MM too?

A ranger with a pet would be good I think. Either let the pet die to get first corpse or the ranger kills something.

I thought something for MM. This is maybe ridiculous but its a worth to try.

55 Necro (with BIP)
MM
Rezmer (with the unlinked resurrection spell)

55 sac fall and drop to 1hp. The MM do a animated. Mesmer rez and 55 die instantly. The reason: Try to rez someone with 25% of 1HP. I never tested before but I think its a worth to try to create like a dozen of Minions in a minute.

Anyone else with some ideas? Remember, I'm not the MM, I'd be the partner so I'm looking for a complementary build

Well, looking at the recent nerf, which limits a Necro to 10 minions max and far less effective healing, you may need a second MM if you want a decent army.

True, they did change the style of play with the MM now with the patch. Yet, I think we are still going to use the build in variation. So, perhaps we could try two MMs to have two golems running around? Or do people still think there is a better duo with a Minion Master and someone else?

How about a Ritualist with Edge of Extinction and Channeling?

Edge of Extinction will kill off the whole minion army with a crazy chain reaction.
Having a N/Me with SS / BR / Echo will do the job fine.

For more damage, an SS necro is an MM's best friend. Boss + Barbs + 10 minions = instant death. Everything goes down quickly, especially when the SS casts are distributed correctly along with Reckless Haste (SS Necro's favorite new skill) and maybe a Mark of Pain.

Personally, I would take an MM and SS necro team for offensive casters over 3 AoE fire eles. SS is extremely pervasive AoE damage that mobs can't run away from, and animated undead, unlike a Searing Heat or similar, can move and chase their targets.

I would actually suggest taking a second MM if you're going into an area with a lot of bodies, since the maximum number of undead you can control is now capped.

Mark of Pain is triggered by any physical damage on the target--doesn't matter what causes the damage.

How about an E/N, or Rt/N or Mo/N, or N/Rt or N/Mo. Be a blood necro and use spells like BiP, BR and use healing for your buddy. Your buddy MM will start losing health and maybe energy (BotM and VS takes energy too), so heal and replenish energy for you buddy. As an E/N, rain fire on your foes, so to create more bodies and your buddy can have lots of energy via soul reaping.

You can be, as suggested by others SS, but it takes a while to get that skill.
BiP also takes awhile, but BR won't take you that long to acquire.

If you want to be annoying, you can be N/R, have your buddy cast Spinal Shivers and you bring winter & Greater Conflageration. His/her minions will do cold damage and you continualy keep your friend filled with energy by casting BiP. His/her minions will continue to interupt all who are affected by Spinal Shivers and die.

Are you going to be playing with henchies or just two of you? If it's only going to be two of you, you need to be able to get the first or second corpse before the foes kill both of you. A W or A may not be a bad choice for that situation. In Faction, Anet gave foes a lot of powerful AOE skills such as "Star Burst" or "Double Dragon". Those skills can almost wipe out all my minion army in one shot. Yes, I'm a MM too. So if that happens, you need to be able to provide more corpses quickly, or you are dead.
